Report - Very Good...the big wordy report - Very interesting day…looked grim early, got better, winds picked up and slowed the lift world down a lot…and some completely stopped late morning....Early LS and GV to MIFB runs sent me straight to HC and straight into PB!!!! (GV bowl skied so nice early that it made me go to PB). Did PB a couple of quick laps early as the winds started picking up. Great conditions in PB - would have cycled it 10 times if not for the winds and wind hold on some of the upper lifts….Managed to make it up REX mid morning just before it went on wind hold…dang had to suffer GV chair with the other unlucky folks stuck up there…gotta say though that most of GV was not primo quality – anything below the bottom of the main GV bowl off piste was not very prime. Definitly a day were off piste was not recommended below a very definite elevation. Lucky for me the winds must have slowed down (or changed directions), since REX started spinning again and then I noticed the HC light was green – praise the lord, time for another few PB runs – and they were still as good (if not better). Winds howled all day. Views were big in all directions, with the wind/clouds rolling off of Rainer and the rest of the big peaks impressive. Started trying to snow pellets up high around the 1pm hour, getting greyer, winds felt like they were picking up…I had made more vert and fun runs than I expected – time to head home. Finished the day with lots of GV bowl and MIFB runs – perfect combo in March…packed smooth powder in the bowl and nice mucky soft small bumps in MIFB…high speed Hamster fun. Sorry the Marketing report would be ? BIG FUN DAY!

Other – Soup at CB lodge (was soup) Tomato Bisque (again), crowd when I passed through was pretty big in the lodge. Parking was pretty typical, some buses, some pay folks, actually cars parked a few rows in B and C was maybe half full – big car crowd at least. Never noticed a lift line, did ride with folks, and many were very happy fun and social.

Other other – to be precise the Hamster world was very limited and focused (and fun), the BMW’s (YES) were very happy and worked as advertised. And nothing better than when the ski season is over for most folks. Noticed the King looked big with lots of left over smooth, and that the upper was very nice, also heard that DFF was nasty (again below a certain elevation), Big party weekend at Crystal – might go tomorrow since the season is pretty much over now.

Made it a short day as really only the groomers and Powder Bowl were worth skiing and the slow lifts on wind speed discouraged the two lift cycle for PB. The King looks pristine because all but the top six turns is cursed with a breakable crust that is present on all aspects and is quite dangerous. Good luck to the competition out there on Sat. Will need deep coverage or a full melt to fix it.
