Mission Ridge 2/26

NWAC was showing the summit temp at 36 degrees at 7 am so I figured it was going to be a slushy, sloppy day of groomer fun, the kind of day that makes you want to throw a couple of PBR's in a backpack. I ended up popping into the shop and grabbed a buddy who really wasn't interested in working but convinced me to hike out Windy Ridge to Microwave and try Bowl 4.

A week since the last storm and warm, sunny days had me doubtful but once we got out there we managed to find areas with +/- 6" of leftovers that were in decent condition and untouched. While there was also some wind buff and frozen chop it was worthy enough to warrant an additional two trips back out there!

It was pretty nice out there on Thursday and Friday.

This is what I was after and had great success.

I was surprised today, snow was soft and light up high off of Windy and that convinced us to hike to Microwave and check out Bowl 4 proper. It was like big soft titties, really. The rest of the way to the lot was 2-4" of nice wind buff on skier's left of Sitkum. Good times.
