Aaaahhhh Great BIG day at Xtal. Late report for me – skied late today chasing a relentless Fireman and his crowd of skiers during the afternoon and was nice and did a pleasant walk this later afternoon with #1. Anyway the real report...glade I didn’t arrive extra late to wait for the snow to get soft….Jumped into the CHex line late and still got first chair around 8:40…A couple of happy high speed groomer screamer on LC and MIFB (with a GV bowl run in the testing process), sent me immediately to Chair 6 and PB!!!!! and BP’s!!!!, gotta say at 9:30 both were in prime condition. PB – perfect easy carving snow (as GV bowl had shown me) and BP’s line I like was perfect sun soft untracked smooth butter! YEEE HAAA….Life was good – redo (or as I remember the words – PANG PANG! Why? I don’t remember – I am kinda old). So the morning was a couple of PB/BP’s cycles with a couple of REX runs – either GV Bowl and MIFB or LC runs…pretty much heaven conditions and what was even better? Endless blue sky views from Hood to Baker. Great day. Great morning…And early afternoon I bumped into the Fireman crowd (BINX?)…lordy thought I was skiing a nice pace…the rest of the day was a non stop blur chasing the Fireman to the next big run…How many times did we do PB today? Lost track! But it was all a blast of fun. My hamster treadmill world was even smaller than normal…never went further south then PB/BP’s or further north than GV Bowl/MIFB. I’m sure there were a lot of other great places…but….when you’re a hamster…

Other – Passed through CB lodge and the soup was….Tomato Bisque (looked very nice). No lift lines today, not many folks showed up…thanks and sorry. Pay lot not full a few buses and the rest of the paying folks could have fit in the a lot (if not for the wasted space in the pay lot…oh well)…..Great day….Best Spring conditions this year. Perfect combo of cold north facing and soft spring south slush!

Yeesss! What a day.  We went all over.  South to north-- Hamburger ok, the traverse is in fine shape.  PB main and left chute skied well.  Left had some ice.  Lower PB moguls not to bad.  MIFB skiers right off the groomed - good.  GV Gondy face most excellent.  West Face a bit crunchy.  Snort Elk grubstake entrance got the stoke-o-meter off the peg.  Paradise Bowl upper left entrance pretty good [thanks KKZ].  Bruce's Bowl nice.  NW top under the chair chute a bit firm but exciting.  Northway Peak top 2/3 sweet.  Mid NW skied best skiers left in the sun.  crap corner sucked.  Some good sized holes in the snow pack.  Only a bit of stickiness on the flats.  Groomers holding up well, no slop yet.  No crowd at all.  And -- a nice cold beer in the parking lot.  Goood time!
