Wooo Hooo….Yee Haa… ;D...What a powder fest kinda day…Light (for a powder Friday) early rush and never any real lift lines (where I was), but a fair crowd of parents with kids did show up today. Pow was big and deep pretty much everywhere and I’m even deeper where I didn’t go (heard big things about NW and EH areas – I kinda assumed the lower areas of both would be tough…so I didn’t let it mess with my treadmill world). Doors, Bearpits, OuterFerks - not the best today, Sunnyside/Breakover (awesome left over wind reloaded this afternoon) was about the extent of my hamster skiing. Did do one run down PB, but the lift was big wind impacted when I rode it and the vis was a little challenging in PB – snow good, just couldn’t see much of it and the winds at that time were really screaming big). Great day of untracked deep and lots of deep left over untracked pockets and even more deep refilled in pockets of fun. Definitely kinda heavy down lower and I had some nasty goggle wiper issues during my last run...was getting wetter early afternoon (almost had to swap to new dry gloves). Snowed a lot of the day with some fuzzy vis times (great to be hanging in the Doors during those periods) and also some almost bright great vis periods. Besides HC running slow during the big winds, REX was running kinda slow all day….more time to rest and plan the next line.

Other – Soup at CB lodge was Chicken Noodle again (dang! Didn’t have the mental casual brain willing to take the hour break to eat any…next time). Pay lot big as usual and not full, rest of A and C full, with B over half full (passed the shuttle stop anyway). Great day, great fun, great snow and the Coombas were in heaven today. Gotta love this El Nino winter so far.

Hmmm, my report will be a little different than the above two...on the positive side. An excellent day. Puked snow all day and kept the tracks filled in and refreshed. Bear Pits lower left entry fantastic with a cut to the right out into the middle for the untracked goods for the bottom half was worth several repeats. I also foundOuter Ferks a complete kick. Campbell Basin Chute .5 to under the chair worth several repeats in spite of the very slow wind-impacted chair. The deepest snow? Down the ridge line from the top of C6, along the rope line into the lower gate, then a drop into K2. Way deep. Kept mixing in front sides and as it got skied out a bit, REX chairline turned into one crazy fast explosion of energy all the way down. Finished the day with the best snow on the mountain in various stashes off the GV chair. It's been a while since we've skied a day where it just kept dumping all day.

With the continued snowfall this evening and some clearing for the week-end, it should be great on the mountain tomorrow.

Going to the big resort north of the border for the coming week.

Not heavy, but thick NW pow was excellent for fast dropping turns as it provided great speed control. I needed it since there were some hairball too-fast lines. Low point was the Frontside-Memorial openers and it was the only place where the new let me drop onto rutted rain crust. High points were in the trees as they slowed the wind and dropped copious amount of new run after run. The Doors, LS Trees, Outer Ferk’s, and Bear Pits ruled the morning. A mid day foray up to Six was excellent down the Chute .5 (Chairline Right) trees. But the creeping C-6 drove us to Upper K2 to K2 for the deepest, untrackedest, run of the day. The wind on Rex moved us to C-3 where Grubstake, Ann’s Run, and an old school line off Rinky Dink Ridge Right (also Shareholder’s Trees and C-3 Chairline) kept the smiles going just long enough to put up with the cold, face cleansing windy chair ride.

Cold, windy, snowy - never had rime ice build up on my gloves before.

I agree a little heavy down on Exterminator low but upper 2/3 was awesome as was Northway from 11 til close. Only bad snow was out past C gate on open face and very bottom of Niagara where there was some holes and rocks. It wasn't supper light but after the last 2 weeks this was a blessing.

WE skied to upper mountain closing bell, as some areas kept getting better.  GV gondy face was the epitome of that.  Had about an hour of sun, and almost sun, from about 2:00 to 3:00 which was sweet.  The hike to Northway Peak was marginal.  To much avy debris and heavier snow.  Top 1/2 of Rex was fun.  West Face skied well all day.  Gortex and a Skigee.
