Sorry this is a long winded BIG report…basic info is it was another great happy Sunday in the Sun – I’m kinda getting into this Sunday thing….And the rest of the verbiage….Another day, another different fun BIG happy day in the SUN. Early it was back and forth sun or clouds or ?...but sun won out…light early crowd (other than the ski racer crowd doing Lower FerkBull). Lucky and MiddleIceFerkBerg were both smooth and spring perfect early. PB called and it was very nice soft left over packed pow (mostly) – rocks starting to pop out big time by the shack at the top, not a problem yet, but…Heard early that one of the better snowboarder lift opps was working NW today…so…ouch I went out there. Upper Paradise Bowl (gate 4?) nice, but all that Autobahn side slow skiing – okay. Lower main path for the masses was nice nasty icy fun. Perfect sunny quiet ride up…met up with Colin (!) for his ride break – had a great Bruce’s Bowl and bump galore run down, including chair line at the bottom…and I was chasing that snowboarding wiz a lot of the time – fun. Okay done with NW….two rides is enough…decided to finally do EH…pretty nice but definitely was better yesterday, good up high in the shade and good down low in the mucky soft stuff (Coombas would have been very happy there today – BMW’s worked okay….but….). I-5 (or what ever most folks call it) was doable and slow (but on the spring wax tonight!), the rain storm skiing through there was pretty intense (trees were off loading all their snow – kinda like being in my shower). Bumped into the Ferk’s and had a couple of nice rides and runs on the T-Bar hill…aka Goldhills…aka Chair 7?...It is always fun skiing that lift and actually pausing at the top and looking at the really perfect big view of the whole ski area! Awesome! On a BIG sunny day. Ended with a few more laps up PB (great – but noticeably warmth impacted) and REX. Snow was getting sticky and slow in places (rubbed on some black stuff that made some places happier).
Other - Soup at CB lodge (when I finally passed through there late) was Garden Vegy…crowd there was BIG. Pay lot had a lot of cars and the rest of A, B, C, D and E were packed with cars…nothing in F. Only place I was lift line impacted was FQex…but I could see a line on GVex mid day – but that was when I was heading to EH.
