Crystal - 01/27

Aaaahhhhhh …another one of those surprisingly unexpected nice enough to be happy fun kinda days – especially if you don’t watch the weather predictions or Crystal web site to closely – or maybe you pay attention to the maybe possible window of possibilities! (ME) We went today cuase I was going and #1 needs the extra skiing on no (NO) crowds kinda days. Drive up nice and quite and dry and fast, lounged around in an empty lodge this morning, jumped onto an empty CHex at 8:45 – looked grey and needed a little windshield wiper action for the first few runs…but the grooming was pretty perfect, the lack of any one on the groomers meant they stayed pretty primo extra long (Lucky and the best perfect spring skiing and carving just right MiddleIceFerkBerg into Deer Fly – thanks to #1 making me go that way (and hearing the Fireman begging his ski partners for “just one more”)) Off piste in the areas not skied enough were challenging (Coombas would have been the ticket for those areas today). Valley Bowl was happy time for the BMW’s, plus all the no effort carver’s on MiddleFerks. Vis was great at least 90+ percent of the time, winds were howling up top, which meant REX was running kinda slow – kept the massive vert chance in check.

Other – Checked the soup at CB lodge…Ched Broc - #1’s tasted pretty good. Bus lot was big and not very full, Pay lot pretty much the same, as was the rest of the A lot – not full, didn’t notice any cars in B or C other than employees.

Think we got “don’t pay to much attention to the forecast” lucky …could have skied longer, the big Rainier Donut Hole was pretty nice today at Crystal. Would have been a perfect “spring” day in mid May…A lot of the slopes already are looking like a spring day.
