December 30, 2015 Summit Central was created by Zap
We arrived at 8:40am just before I-90 closed from 9am - noon. We started at Silver Fir and waited for the delayed start. It was very cold at the beginning with SUN and no wind. To see the sun from West to East was great. We just started following the groomers. The weather forecast is for more sunshine and groomer days. It is interesting to see who is winning the grooming award. There are some great groomer snow-cat folks and some who still need a few lessons. With the Pass closed for awhile the trails were deserted with no lift lines. East was closed until 10:30am when they got the front side lift operating. Rampart is not running yet. Around 11:30am the Pass opened and more folks were arriving. People were waiting for us to leave so they could have our parking spot just across from the Silver Fir Lodge. It was a nice morning in the sun on the groomers.

According to WSDOT I-90 was closed 9-12 from mp 56 toward Easton. Access to the ski areas from the West never closed today. Weather was perfect: no wind, blue skies, packed powder snow, cool not chilly temperatures.
