This was our first visit to Hyak in 2 years. It seems unusual not to use the name Hyak. By 8:15am the parking lot was filling. We thought that the backside lift would open early, but it didn't and we could not wait until noon – there is a Seahawks football game this afternoon. All the front trails were groomed, except the Rampart lift line trail (the lift was closed). Very few folks were skiing off piste, but the backside will have some short lines by afternoon. With the mid 20's temperature, little wind, and no cloud cover at Hyak it was a fun morning
