After missing 3 of the last four days….It just had to happen today….And it was very very good! Drove up early, lined up for the first bucket, had lots of happy conversation in the nuking snow storm at the base. Around 8:40 started loading – Yee Haa. Got off the top just before the first REX folks arrived – dang them early again. First run down one of the middle Doors, Ouch Deep! Havent had many runs like that in a long time….caused some sliding snow (avie?) in the narrow steeps slots (and later skied Door 1 – very sweet – but skied through a spot were the patrol had dropped a bomb, some light avie stuff and the smell of powder! Spent my short morning between M-World and the Last Door. All fun, with plenty of left over pillows of untracked to slice through. And for this hamster some nice packed soft go anywhere bump oh things. Just about the time of my required departure the line on REX finally blew up to almost something like big (not old world big).
Other – No Soup report, so sad, no time. Pay lot was immense and had the biggest gaps between rows I have ever seen…and it was not full either. B, C lots full, hard to tell on D and E since they are full of buried cars. Drive up early was snowpacked from Greenwater. Drive down should have been easier – but some drivers?
Other Other – Power went out at 8:15 this morning and everything was on Crystal power or diesel….they were burning the gas today, REX was running fast on the gas. Heard a lot of trees down from to dang much snow….always something. It was pleasantly almost sunny when I left – ouch again. All the hard core powder hounds were in turbo mode today.
