An early departure rewarded us with an excellent parking spot, an early chair on Skyline and complements of the heavy dump and stiff breeze which started in the wee hours of the morning, an untracked line through the whiteroom down the main bowl of 7th Heaven. The backside delivered even more, with about a foot of drifted blower up top and 4-8" everywhere else. What were open creeks and sporty zones on Monday are now filled-in troughs and pillow lines with nothing but soft snow in the landings. Mid-morning there was a brief period of wintry mix, only noticeable as one had to defrost their goggles on the chair while heading up for another lap.

Did I mention the crowd was light? Ride on, ride off all day for this fella, no singles line necessary. A check of the Twitters revealed that they never needed their satellite lots today. In all honesty, it felt like 2007 - nice to get a taste of the Stevens I fell in love with years ago. Refills were on special all day, although the storm did break for 90 mins or so around lunchtime, affording just enough time to explore some steep and (waist) deep zones.

Better than the best day of last season and with more to come, it's hard to complain! Ski safe and be happy, winter is back :D
