Another Fun day in the Hamster treadmill…even better cause nobody showed up to get in the way of my ski line. Arrived at 8:30 to park in the front of the free part of A. Changed in to my ski gear, checked out the ski shop for X-Mass things, got into the empty Bucket line at 8:48 and they opened the Mountain for me at 8:50! Still nobody around but me and my personal Crystal Mountain servants (ha ha). Heard about it from more than a few employees (mountains open and dan is on the way up! Get ready!). Nice bucket ride up (plenty of walking around space), pleasant see forever views at the top, easy no rush conditions for first tracks? ( That really starts first thing tomorrow…8:30 sharp load for Pass holders….hhhmmm). Perfect conditions for finding my easy perfect rock/stump/root/brush/tree free ski line…once I got the line dialed in, the morning was pretty much hamster mode…except for one run when I did my second trip out SnortElk way this season…Ouch, its nasty now dropping into the main SnortElk bowl (top is way past a mine field) once into the bowl nice snow, but the bottom area heading back to the GV lift was way browner and grassier and who knows what else than I expected…didn’t repeat it this morning. Never saw a lift line…actually didn’t see to many folks, never got close to having to share a chair. I have to say hopefully this will truly be the last big blue sunny awesome see forever day I’ll ski till at least January. I’m easily satisfied skiing repeatitivly the same crappy boring line…but a little new snow would be nice, and a little variety in things to ski.
Other – Soup at top was Tomato (again or still), nobody on top eating, no folks riding up the bucket for the big views. Even less riding down. It was getting cooler and breezier when I quit and I could see the clouds rolling in from the Southwest – Yee Haa. No food at the base when I left. A lot was maybe half full…maybe, maybe not. Fun short day working the hard pack muscles.
