Icy in spots on the drive, Pay lot reasonable and made a descent show. A lot full and down the sides, B lot about 3.5 rows. No lift line to speak of till about 10:15, then 5 min. About 11:00 got big, 5-10 min max and then after 12:00, nada. Grubstake was good in the early sun. Snort Elk good winter chalk. Both had lots of rocks getting in. West face - good winter chalk. It skied better than it looked. West face short- OK. Gomdy face - pretty good later, crunchy early. LOTS of rocks, you will need pick and choose. [I'll take the soft ones] I skied good skis early and nailed a few. Went back down when the GV line got big and got on the rock skis. Outlook - bumps are building, lots of trip u brush, and rocks. It was worth it, better than I hoped.

I got to Crystal at 8am and was the third car in free parking. Traffic on the way up was non- existent, but there were 5 different groups of elk between Greenwater and the Crystal turn off. More than I've seen in a while. Took my time getting ready and got in the gondie line at 8:30, 5 people back. Made the first bucket at 8:40. I must have been channelling ddk this morning.
As was stated yesterday, big inversion. I don't think the temps in GV dropped below 40 last night and in spite of the crystal clear skies overnight, nothing froze solid. Best runs of the morning were Grubstake and Snorting Elk. Both were tricky to get into due to all the rocks at the top. Finally started dropping into Grubstake about a third of the way down GV to avoid all the rocks at the top. By 11am, the valley had turned into nice soft bumps, so spent a lot of time doing the bowl to West Face.
The singles line was never more than 2 minutes. Most of the time it was just ski up and pair up with whoever was at the front.
Don't take your good skis. Lot's of shots on my bases particularly as the day wore on. Also, Crystal isn't grooming anything because the snow is too thin.
Great views, hawaii shirt warm, and nice to be back on the mountain.

Great fun day in the sun. Soft snow, small moguls everywhere, a few rocks here and there. Arrived at 10am, skied until around 12:30, headed home. No rocks to speak of in the morning but did see several starting to peek out by noon. Figured it will get worse as the sun keeps shining and melting the snow.
Nothing more to add that weren't covered by the other reports except looking forward to a great ski year this year and hoping for a heck of a lot better conditions this year than last year.
