Aaaahhhh opening day at Xtal….expected the worst in opening day crowds, so left way to early to “try” to get the front of the lift line – 6am, competition pulls into the way to far back free part of the A lot (what the hell? Opening day pay lot is bigger than a weekend day in January – those kinda folks are not showing up today! As was very obvious when I left around 2pm. – dang supper computer deciding how many big money folks will actually show up!) Anyway…arrived as noted way to early to only get slot number 2 in bucket number 1. Not many others showed early (including most of the crystal employees), crowd was surprisingly light early – shortest start time crowd I’ve seen in a while. Hoped for that to continue all day – didn’t happen, big bulge of folks around 10 or so, but as is usual the crowd was fading by noon. Skiing – fun sun, fun boot top smoke over nice smooth firm fun. Lots of fast hamster fun runs early – early? Crystal started up loading around 8:30! Yee Haa! If anyone looked there was an inversion this morning and it got down right overly warm during the morning – oh and tomorrow morning all those overly sunny slopes will be kinda frozen lumpy chunky! I might stay home tomorrow and wait for casual Monday crowds. Fun day, lots of social other hard core friends. Nice to get Crystal number one day out of the way. PS as noted by others no soup report from Baker...Today at the top they had French Onion something.
