The conditions appeared just like yesterday. In fact I parked in the same spot as yesterday and noticed the 4” that “pipedream” mentioned. The only problem was that once again my lift ticket card (loaded for 3 days yesterday) did not work. The mesh fence had been moved back a bit and I did not have to go through the gate. The conditions were great – packed powder and some powder off trail. The groomers had created bigger lanes. There were no lift lines and it was “cycle time”. Stevens' ski season is extended thru Thursday for spring skiing. They will decide Thursday afternoon if there will be another day if the lower base is skiable. Baker is opening on Thursday through Sunday, and with Crystal closing on Sunday, lift-assisted powder days at WA ski areas are ending. It's time to pull out the skins for back-country/side-country/earn-your-turns “powder days” at the resorts.
