Another primo perfect day in the Valley treadmill! See forever vis at top, perfect screamer groomers first thing from SnortElk sun softened cord to center Valley nice all the way to West Face (very nice) left over powder(still? huh?) with a dusting of new! Worth repeats again today. Very nice small happy hard core folks suffering the job of sliding on snow for all the worker Bee’s in the lowlands. Never got hot today (warm was getting there) which kept the snow pretty Goldilocks nice. Just enough happy soft bumps to get a nice work out –Even got Ann to admit that Ann’s runs was actually pretty nice! Big bumps, great back light from the sun, weird lines through the trees – what more could you ask for?
Other – Heard the soup was Chicken …..Cream – dang so close. Finally everyone is in agreement that Crystal will be open till the 19th. Pay lot had a fair amount of cars, rest of A lot had less cars than yesterday (very not full). Fun as usual.

The treadmill was in good shape albeit, easy and repetitious. Guess that’s the definition of treadmill. Took advantage of the one run off the Gondy for Valley Bowl and West Face. Meh. But the snow was softening and each run I worked another 10 feet into the off-piste. About 11:00, Grubstake and C-3 Chairline finally put some challenging terrain in the mix. Then we added in Kookie Ridge (see if you can look that up) and the face back down to Snorting Elk. Best snow of the day. Add in S Elk Trees Right and you had some intensity. By 1:00, the next round of weather had moved in and the refreezing was underway. A day was had.
Whoever left their granola at the top of C-3 had attracted quite a family of Gray Jays. I helped some jays out getting into the bag and in the process forgot a beer in the snow. Guess I donated to the local fauna. (Hear that ddk? You know where my pack was).
Raining as we coasted down the Boulevard.
Renewed/Bought our passes, guess I’m in for another (46th) season. Yes, you will have to pull your pass out and have it scanned each time you load. They seemed really surprised when asked if it would have a hole for a lanyard. As if they hadn’t thought about a line a six pack wide trying to find their passes in pockets and who knows where. Skied at Big Sky last month where they had to have 3 people scanning tickets for a 4 person chair. Expecting chaos.
