It was another spring day, and we used the free tickets that we got with our Mountain Collective passes. The lifts started loading at 9:15am. We were in the first line to load and after 2 runs on different aspects discovered that it was firm, very firm. We skied down to Alf's Restaurant for some hot chocolate and waited for it to soften. There was a large group of older skiers who were also waiting for the runs to get a bit springy. After an hour or so the sun did it's job, and it was finally spring skiing. The Supreme and Collins lifts were at their prime for about 3 hours.

One of our best lift rides was on the Supreme lift. We rode the lift with an older man who was in his 80s. He's a local and has been at Alta for a long, long, long time. I asked about his ski buddies; most are dead or can't ski because of the health issues. He asked about our ages, 68 and 70. Hope you get to 80 was his comment. I have been at it for 42 years, and I should have started earlier.
