Very mighty fine day – per the informal survey I did on the lifts today ( Question – Terrible day? Huh? Isn’t it a pretty crappy terrible day? – NO, NOT, What kinda question is that? Ha Ha!). Day started nice and cold (felt colder today, wind down low?), but a lot more casual than yesterday – got first in line a lot later than Saturday. Lots of racers uploading again today at 8:30 and promptly at 8:45 I gave the “I’m Ready” statement and the lift gates opened all over the mountain…Yee Haa…funny! Great early morning screamer groomers, the race crowd sucked up most of the Valley – I never went down there…heard the lines were ?ig for a bad ski season. Took my second run down PB – not as sweet as yesterday, but still nice…second and other runs were better down what some folks call John’s Run (JD) – main big sunny slot skiers left off the top (lookers right from the bottom) – it was perfect soft on the left in the sun and perfect packed pow on the right side turns in the shade. Pretty fair big crowd, many skiing Lucky, soft bumps in the baking sun. Rocks really popped out on top of HC, and the rocks at the bottom of REX showed up early. Still managed to ski out to the base way to early today (getting wimpy and old, but made #1 happy with the late afternoon walk when I got home. Other factoid – today was very very nice and very very happy for those folks on the mountain…but the spring sun has done its work and only the shadiest north facing slopes still have cold snow…everything else is with the right amount of sun nice and soft spring fun.
Other – Soup at CB (and the base) was Tomato Bisque something…The FreeRide Jr’s were way out on the King…perfect vis for young folks (cant see that far from Chair 6 anymore – or at least my neck hurts a lot when I try)….Pay lot very very ?ig, and made a good effort again today. B lot had a bunch of cars, C lot maybe 3/4 and D & E had cars?
Fun day incredibly short even for me. Lots of fun in the Hamster cage the last three days.
