Feb 24, 2015, Whistler/ Blackcomb

Not much sun this morning and cooler temps so I knew it would be firm up top. By Noon it was mostly clear so I made the most of it and toured the hard Alpine via groomed trails only. Going up Peak Chair I saw one guy off piste. Symphony was hard as a rock as was Harmony so - I ate lunch and went downhill to search for soft bumps. Not a bad run to the Valley. Made my way up and down Solar Coaster a few times but it was still not softening even though the sun was full out. Only the bottom was soft - way soft. Because I was by myself and started way late, I kept at it and caught the last Glacier Chair and had a partly OK run down Crystal Ridge/ Ridge Runner and the soft Valley bottom. I tried hopping into Heavenly Basin but the intense noise and shaking drove me back to the traverse. Rode up the Gondola and closed Seppo's again and got fresh Cat tracks again. Rocks starting to pop up on Lower Dave Murray. I hope it gets cold so they can make some more snow. I also hope something drastic happens with the weather. This bullet proof stuff will not change unless it gets real warm again or it gets completely covered up by a big one. Even though I've got a pass - I'll probably cut this week short unless things change. 26,000 Vert.
