Will it work? Did not expect this?.....Had a couple of nice little (BIG) days at Blackcomb. Actually the worst overall trip to Whistler that we’ve had that I can remember (early on set dementia). First two days pretty good, cool and firm groomer on Wednesday, good vis, things got soft enough to have fun in nasty tight bumpy runs in the trees, groomers got soft and mushy, the ski to the bottom was fun (lunch was CHICKEN NOODLE! What else? Not as good as at CB lodge). Thursday was blowing, snowing (bottom of Excellarator (sp?)) to the top, with gradually rising wet zone all day. Spent most of the day on Glacier and the top T-Bars with a few wet runs down mid mountain. Vis was okay enough. Finished the day with a couple of Bark/GearJammer runs (good enough to make me repeat and test the GoreTex). Though GearJammer will not be skiable much longer. Did the Udon bowl for lunch at Glacier lodge (love that stuff). Wanted to ski Friday, but it was just too wet top to bottom…so sad, first time I’ve ever been to Whistle and not skied. Conditions on the upper mountain should be great this week. They picked up some nice plaster on the upper mountain which skied nicely on Thursday. Would really like to be sking the “BIG” mountains over the next week. Should have gone a day or two earlier and really wish I was still there!
