It was a cloudy morning with a bit of sun in the distance. The RK Heli-Ski operation was flying. It has been along time since our last visit. At that time, they had 2 t-bars for access to the summit and Taynton Bowl. That is now covered by the Summit quad. It rained at the resort a couple of days ago and then froze. The groomers did a great job with what they had, and provided groomed trails off Mile-1 Express, Champagne Express, Summit quad, Sunbird chair, Discovery quad and Toby chair. They provided numerous groomers for fast skiing, but you did not ski off the groomers in the morning. The trails were nice but no sun, therefore no fun. Panorama has good coverage and no bare areas that we saw.
On our trip south we were planning to ski Schweitzer Resort, but they only had The Basin Express and Lakeview Triple operating. They have received a lot of rain and the back side of the resort is closed. In fact there were 'field and stream flooding and mud slide' alerts for the Sandpoint, ID, area. On our trip home we stopped at Summit East, Central, West and Alpental. Hmmm... Looks pretty sad.
