Lordy and finally the rest of the wordy report - Aaaahhhhh….another day on snow, folks that slam me for having fun….sorry had fun again today….lucky me I have a very high pain tolerance and a very low pleasure happy tolerance …and today was the perfect combo. Checked the Top Cam at 7am – clear sky and sun rising…grab the BMW’s and jump into the truck. Arrived at 8:40 to the front row of the “free” lot, quick change and jump on an empty bucket at 9am. Big sunny clear see forever – and I could see an amazing amount of perfect groomed slopes (Lucky, main Valley runs, plus a slot in West Face(huh? – twas nice when I did it, steep and smooth). Did a T2B randomly early – fun. Great screamer fun day for “old” folks that can ski groomer runs forever! With the private ski area conditions, the perfect groomers lasted way to long! Years ago when I thought I was a “stud”, figured I be done by now…but when the high speed groomers are around – YEE HAA! fun. With the cold temps overnight it took a while to soften some slopes….and my fav lines on the front side of REX are getting pretty thin! So didn’t work them as hard as normal. Most of the day was easy ultra fast (for me) screamer runs on the never ending perfect groomers in the Valley and Lucky (and one pass through DownHill and Rolling Noll ( looked like Crystal groomed runs around FQex ….the Blue crowd should have showed up today!
Other – Tomato soup at CB lodge (thought there would be no food based on the Crystal Web site – but like the grooming report cant trust them). Had other food, but it was pretty dead when I passed through. Base was even deader and locked up completely when I bailed mid afternoon…the whole base lodge was locked up tight. Pay lot sort of small and mostly empty. Rest of A lot had maybe three rows worth of cars. Great skiing today if you like minimal snow conditions in a ski area with lifts that make the up hill hike pretty easy…..Looks like late May in a bad ski year….but it was fun as usual.
