Lordy a win!...... and the finally the rest of the to wordy report - The long wordy report – Havent been on a Sunday in a while and it was a Big day (not the last I hope), big CMAC racer day on PRO course in the Valley (Slalom), big sunny, big warm, big nasty icy rattle the bolts in my knee first run today, but lucky thing is the Big Sun softened everything pretty quickly (and traffic breaking up the frozen on Lucky). Did I say warm, full on day at the beach by 9:30 (it was kinda cold at the base waiting for first lift ride…so for the folks that really don’t “LOVE” icy nasty ungroomed left over rocks dirt brush and body parts…Tomorrow could be a late start. No grooming anywhere other than Chicken Shot today – that I noticed. As mentioned things got soft pretty quick – was heading to my “FAV” IceFerkBerg run just to check things out around 10ish – got sucked into SunnySide area! Very smooth and soft and everything nice – no bumps, small bumps, corn(?), smooth, nice…do it again and again and …. Around 11:15 headed towards HC to check out the conditions (and the soup of the day!...much more later on that topic). Did a few soft runs off Chair 6 – pretty much have to walk a little bit off the top in all directions…but nice and soft on the Chair side – didn’t try PB – anything in the shade today did not act like it was 45 degrees…just enough breeze? Not May? – kinda looked and felt like May. Headed back to REX – no lift lines, not many folks other than CMAC. Front side of REX skied great, but will not be skiable much longer (heard rumors of limited operations coming soon), lots of lines I like are getting very very narrow and rocky (even rocky for me). Fun day, fun day at the beach, fun day skiing in spring slush.
Other – The Triple Trifecta(sp) of all time at CB lodge! Chicken Noodle Soup, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and White Chocolate Macadamia Nut cookies!!!! WOW OH ME OH MY! Twas a great lunch looking at the King. Pay lot kinda big and did a almost good job getting full today. B lot full to the shuttle stop, C lot maybe 4/5 full. Got a wake up tail slide on the drive up the blvd this morning – I was really wide awake after than one…pay attention. Had another great run with Robert the very very good snowboarding lift opp that like bumps!
