January 10, 2015, Jackson Hole, WY

After watching the Hawks win tonight, it is time to talk about skiing. It has been 12 years since Jill and I last skied here. Unfortunately, you can no longer park overnight at the ski resort, so we found another nice place. We have 2 days of free tickets for Jackson Hole from our Mountain Collective Pass. It was a foggy morning, but with sun from the top to mid mountain; a typical inversion. We walked to the tram and it was quiet with no line. Before we went through the gate, we saw a Mountain Host and asked about conditions at the top of the tram at 10,450'. He hadn’t been up there this morning, but a friend on Ski Patrol said that it is not a worthy day in Rendezous Bowl. The inversion had heated the bowl and it needs a new snow storm, therefore it’s best to hit the groomers. OK! We took the Bridger Gondola to 9,095' and had a nice view of some of the terrain. I had forgotten the excellent and varied terrain throughout the resort -- cliffs, rock lines, Corbet's Couloir, chutes, treed terrain, cirque, bowls, crags, headwalls and the Hoback area. We skied groomers until our quads began yelling, including runs off Thunder quad, Marmot double, Casper quad, and Apres Vous quad. It was a wonderful day, and it surprised us that it was not very busy for a Saturday.

The new weather forecast is predicting a few inches tomorrow, Sunday, and Monday. We are hoping!
