Because of our Gold Super Passes from Snoqualmie Summit we were able to get free tickets at Big Sky. We were here last year and had powder every day. This year it was sunny and in the low 30s at the base and mid 20's at the summit. The base is in good shape and you can ski most of their terrain. We parked in our favorite free parking area near pole “D” which is right across the road from a tram pick-up point. We like to be next to the tree line so you can can ski to the campervan. We skied the groomers which are in wonderful shape. We followed the sun in the hope that the runs would soften (they didn't very much) to provide fast runs. Although the parking lots were full, we only saw a few skiers and/or snowboarders on the trails we selected -- we're not doing the steep scary stuff any more! Lone Peak tram was running but the line was 45-60 minutes. We skied Ramcharger, Thunder Wolf, Southern Comfort and Swift Current, all high speed quads. Challenger is out for maintenance making the crossover to Moonlight Basin more difficult. The clouds came in after lunch, and they are talking about some moisture; not sure what that means?
