We left Redmond on Friday and stopped by Summit West to see the slope conditions. We did not ski, but met the kids there for a short while. We are heading east to find powder. When we hit Spokane there was snow on the ground. It has been snowing in Idaho and Montana for several days. Lookout Pass opened at 8:30am -- it was our 1st day of skiing and it was a 7”powder day. The day pass for seniors was $29. They have only 3 double chairs and the chairs never stopped running! The lowest chair starts at 4500’ and the top of the chair is at 5650’. It was enjoyable to have to put on a neck gaiter to keep the powder off my face. It was nice to be skiing powder again. What a fun way to start the season. Let’s keep going east.
