Crystal - 12/30

I think the posts for yesterday captured yesterday's experience quite nicely, so I will use that as a baseline for my report today. Less crowds, less wind, no power outage, and no chair failure (except for the REX sequencer issue that started around noon). Also, the bluebird skies and full-on sun made it feel warmer than yesterday, even though it was actually colder. The snow was a bit firmer than yesterday, but GV, all the front side from REX north, Ferkberg, and Grubstake were great. But the best had to go to Exterminator top-to-bottom. That one was worth a repeat. Did I mention the bluebird skies and low crowds? When we left, most of the lots were full. Where were all those people? And, since we didn't take a lodge break, I can't comment on the crowds or have a soup report.

We spent last night at the mountain and had a good dinner at the Bullwheel ($3 pints of Kokanee on Happy Hour until 7pm), a nice long chat with bossman John K., a couple of big-A cookies at the Elk for dessert, and a cold walk back to our room that we didn't notice so much. So, our great day today actually started with a great night last night.

Same conditions forecast for tomorrow. Dress in layers as it will be chilly in the morning.

Missin you Bandit....wake me up if you see me....HC is pretty nice now...still to be tested in really nasty windy days, but the seats are pretty cushy and its way to fast for the folks that should not be there....

...the new and improved chair 6...faster and a safety bar...but I can't figure out why no footrests?...insurance?

Yeah, what CD said. I voted Upper/Lower Bull run of the day, Exterminator a close second. Might all be a moot data point with the new NWAC forecast of 9K freezing levels tomorrow through friday.

Didn’t see anything other than that Six was running, very few takers on Powder Bowl as we stayed on quick rides in the sun.
