12/29/14 - Stevens Pass

7th Heaven was spinning at opening bell. Backside cracked at 11. 3" new overnight made for buttery corduroy on the groomers. Big crowd for a weekday, but by no means unreasonable for a holiday week. First lap down the back was pure bliss, thin cover be damned! By the third lap things were getting pretty beat up. Explored some out towards Rooster, found the goods lap after lap until the crowd returned after lunch. Slipped away to the frontside and partook in the silent compaction affair on Big Chief, which was, unsurprisingly, already quite cut up before the first chair unloaded.

No real traffic to deal with on the hwy today, but a pretty substantial crowd on the hill for a Monday. Not too bad for a holiday week, though. Found some rocks in landings and even took a quick dip in a creek, but at the end of the day the body is okay, even if the base looks like it's been to war.

I thought there was more like 3/4-1" for the 29th, but it freshened up the bigger snowfall from the days before. I may have acquainted myself with the same creek....?
The base is solid for now tho more rocks kept appearing. At least it will stay cold until the next precip.
