With 14" new in the past 24 and 8" "overnight", today was going to be a busy one at the 2 resort. An early departure from the city put us in prime position to grab an early chair on Tye Mill, which spun for the first time this season. At 9:05, my favorite three-seater this side of the crest began accepting butts and hauled us up for what I thought would be the best laps of the day. However, a sneaky, late-morning opening of 7th Heaven to those properly-equipped with BC safety gear took the cake. Laps on Hogs filled the voids inbetween, offering spicy lines in the gullies skiers' left of the chair. After lunch, we headed-out to snag a few more laps on 7th only to discover it shuttered so we dipped into Grace Lakes instead. The upper basin was in good shape, offering up a dozen superb turns in belly-button-deep snow. However, the slog out quickly nullified the reward and rendered us useless for anything more involved than a parking lot social. With our bodies exhausted and our powder cravings abated, we drove home along a very empty Hwy 2, listening to Moon and Raible call the Hawks' decisive victory over the Rams, putting them atop the NFC West for the second year in a row!
