12/29/14 – Second day of resort op at Snoqualmie West is our first day of the season on snow. Trace of new snow in the parking lot. Got there and loaded first chair on Pacific Crest just before 0900. PC, Julies, and Little Thunder were running and there was no need for any more lifts than that what with the low crowd count. Snow up top was a pretty decent texture, nice and carveable. Below the top half, you could tell it had warmed up and then re-froze overnight but it wasn’t icy. LOTs and lots of twigs still sticking out both on and off le pistes, making for many micro-gates to turn around and avoid. Still seeing a number of dirt patches coming up thru the thinness and some of the creeks are not yet covered over. Weather was mostly cloudy with sun breaks lighting up a few spots and peaks.
