Five inches new at roundhouse skied nice for 3 runs then got heavy. If they open Alpine for hiking up there's probably close to a foot up there. All of the ski outs survived the rains and the Alpine is filled in nicely. Top might open this weekend. They've been doing lots of work up there - lots of bombs today

They opened part of the Alpine for hiking in, and I got lucky and was in the first group going up. We took the low angle Harmony Piste in horrible light (but found my foot deep powder) and the visibility did improve enough to link together the best turns of the season.

Peak & 7th open on Saturday...

... I'm just using yr reports to judge what's going on above 6k. Freezing levels haven't been dramatically lower up there than they've been down here. Thinking Rainier on Saturday might just be okay after all

Yea - everything above 6K is very good up here so I'd guess you're right. It was snowing partway down the Creekside Gondola on my way down this afternoon, so things are getting even better. Very happy to hear the Alpine is opening the day after I leave :'(

Even if Whistler doesn't get another big storm the mountain will be in fine shape very soon. I'm sure they will be getting the Creekside ski out blown in and working on other spots too. But it is all about the Alpine!
