Some might have gone home after yesterday, but I'm still keeping the faith. Got on the mountain early and had a good day skiing despite what most would call terrible conditions. In the morning it was wide track parallel and picking up the inside ski on each turn for the first 500 feet of vertical and then it got real nice. Yes, it was raining hard, but the snow skied well, and the sections where the creeks might rush onto the runs were kept at bay by a host of volunteers and ski patrollers. I stayed mostly dry, and took the Gondola up every run all day. From Seppo's at the end of the day I drank my pint with a few of the usual locals and watched it snow at a 2-3 inch per hour rate. The forecast is calling for nearly a foot tonight and more tomorrow so the prospects will be pretty good up here for the weekend. The Alpine above Roundhouse has been getting snow every day, and is quite well filled in for this time of year. I bet it opens for the weekend. Powder pics tomorrow, but I'm sure no hiking up high. Severe Avalanche danger on top.
