Crystal - 05/17

So were is the soup and parking lot report for Crystal today? No TAY folks up...cams mid day looked pretty nice, heard from Mr Ferk that skiing/hiking was possible to the base....Mr Baker? Mr Scot? Mr or Ms anybody? Real hard core Alpy skiers? I'm stressed to know how awesome it was! And how sad I should be for not being there....

Don't know...dabaker and I went mountain biking after a 20 min discussion as to whether we should go skiing or biking. I persuaded him to go biking...I feel guilty now.

It was a very nice day at Crystal indeed. Expected some rain and got just a bit of fog and a few sun breaks. Was breaking in a pair of Lange boots the fine folks below had fitted and after 5-6 runs they felt pretty good. Skied mostly the groomers but went off piste a few times and things loosened up nice by 10 or so. Hiked the cat track up to Northway chair and that was a bit heavy buy worth it. Did one trek up Grubstake and skied Elk Chutes which was in really good shape. Skied top to bottom twice and only walked the last 100 yards or so. Ended the day with a french dip and Elk Frost at the Snorting Elk. Popped into a small car show in Buckley on the way home. Life is good, love Crystal Mt.

the southern resort was ok for skiing but the winner was breakfast atop the hill.
sat peacefully in a cloud shrouded inn while the kind staff fed my hungry birds. watched it snow outside while i dined upon smoked bacon, poached eggs and french toast. sipping coffee watching the tide roll away one day at a time.
