Short report – Great morning you should have been there…The long winded wordy report….Lordy what a tough day getting out of bed this morning! Had forecasts of maybe slow arrival of the next rain storm till afternoon and bad things for Sunday. So gotta go today if your gonna go. Checked the cams, telemetry and radar at 6am – ouch, double ouch. Foggy, precip happing, temps look damp at the base, reasonably cold on top….It was a mental stretch passing through Blackdiamond thinking about a nice morning bike ride…But as is usual after a nice gondy ride with David (of Elysian fame) in the first bucket, popping out at the top in nice vis conditions, with 3 to 4 new spring pow on a very very nice smooth surface…It was heaven time at Crystal! Did many early runs in the Valley, especially Grubstake Trees! Decided to check out West Face – never made it there, dropped into MiddleNotIceFerkBerg, pretty sweet and smooth with the new, skied to the base through Stump Farm (good), but the last 100 yards or so was pretty sticky nasty….Oh well, next three runs were Doors and Memorial! Smooth untracked sweetness with increasing sun, it was my oh my nice! But the run out to the base kept getting stickier higher up, so decided to stay in the Valley. Valley was still skiing nice (maybe okay), but the cut up snow was setting up a little and it required a little more effort – if you could find untracked pockets it was still great, but the very light crowd had pretty much cut up everything. Stayed dry today, not a lot of precip and most of it was of a firm pellet variety, but the lifts were dripping pretty steady and when your riding solo the middle seat gets kinda damp. Ended the day with a long traverse into REX chair line (not enough gates in the right places for me) and skiing in the sun down an untracked smooth slope – Ouch so nice! Great morning quit early, drove away around noon, glad I went it was a great morning of spring powder day skiing the front side of REX. Thanks you Crystal for opening it and letting me have a blast.

Other – No soup report, the A lot was maybe half full or so (sad for the Crystal accountants). Was pretty nice at the base when I left – managed to score a block of the much talked about Oneball Summer Slush wax, looking forward to trying it out. The Coombas were very happy again today!
