Another report for Blackcomb this week - Oh so Happy Times on Blackcomb! Drove up extra early on Tuesday, got lucky and our room was available when we arrived, casual early morning (lifts don’t really open till 10am – only negative on the first day was not paying enough attention about lifts running – the Excalibur isn’t running during the week and we were staying in the Village – dang!) Oh well, after some early morning grumping life went into the “Happy” world of skiing perfect early morning corduroy groomers and then lots of fun soft big bumps, nice tree gates in Bark S, big Saudan Couloir Extreme, no crowds, great skiing soft cruiser groomers in between with lots of Bark Sandwich/GearJammer fun thrown in…and every day got to ski to the Village at the end of the day (maybe not much longer). So that was Tuesday and it was very nice….Wednesday was the same-oh-same-oh, but warmer from the start, funer (how do you spell that?). Bigger sunny, bigger softer on the perfect corduroy runs early and Saudan! Ouch again! And pretty much a better repeat. Thursday! Hot from the start, soft snow, fun snow, great skiing, no lift lines, no body on the slopes, great soft mucky slow go anywhere bumps – and Suadan was even better, Bark S (sweet), GearJammer big easy drops down very big steep bumps, oh so nice and easy for the Coombas – Coombas? A perfect slush screamer ski – have I ever mentioned that? Great three days of skiing, great food in the Village (Citta! Not many days left anymore). Great pizza on the mountain and in the Village (Misty! Very very good and had Glut Free for #1 extra bonus). Chick Noodle every day, though I never had any ( Huh?). Pretty perfect trip to Blackcomb Heaven.

Other – bought the spring season pass with next seasons Edge card, $30 a day for suffering the perfect life! Triple Ouch! Parking was in the basement and only saw the truck on the first and last day. Took a while to figure out the perfect path from room to the base of the Wizard, but that in the brain now. Stayed at the Mountain Side, nice rooms, pretty nice location. The Village is a hyper active construction project – Carlton getting big face lift, Longhorn also, pretty much everywhere prepping for summer and next season. New RF system for the base (at least) ticket checking system in full progress. Bike park opens in a couple of weeks and there was lots of work in that area. Next big sunny forecast will drag me (at least and #1 one is pretty hyped also – she had a great three days with her new skis) back up for a few more lazy easy fun days on the snow. Easy boarder crossings – very lucky.

Should have met you up there. I posted on Wednesday. Wasn't the Couloir the easiest steep you've ever skied! My favorite bump run was Showcase.

Gotta say the easy entrance I was using was pretty fun and big into the Couloir....Fav bump run? Showcase? Not sure were that is..not Staircase? Did do one of the big bump runs down between Glacier and Jersey - big fun, would have been more fun with Glacier running - so I could have done them more often, so sad! Would have then also done Pako and Cougar and .... - dang. Guess we need some big sun on weekends to get the big lifts running. Great week, sorry we missed you, will have to try to hook up....tomorrow at X-tal for some GV runs?

Staircase was the one. And yes that was one of those good north facing runs that you can access from JC by making the traverse over. Upset that they don't run Glacier. We should have been running Garnett laps. Going shrimping tomorrow! You seem to go to Whistler me a lot. I have a 2 bedroom two bath condo at Creekside (Legends) that will be vacant Memorial Day Weekend (actually open for 7 days), as I've got a new graduate to deal with. PM me if interested in a great deal. Otherwise I'll put it on a bulletin board and try to trade it for a snowmobile to drag me some place cool.
