Crystal - 04/13

As noted yesterday, life is pretty perfect skiing at Crystal right now – by far the best spring conditions (since January anyway) in years…Probably cause Crystal has not had many special events this spring – next weekend looks a little different. Arrived early do to parking concerns – hate parking in the C lot…Light early crowd, no real lift lines early, but a few “freeway” gluts every once in a while during the mid day. Groomers nice and firm early, Lucky nice and smooth, MiddleIceFerkBerg had some pretty entertiaining long ridges running down slope – they got beat down by the folks skiing it. Bumps? Bumps are starting to grow pretty nicely in places – UpperFerkRidge had some pretty big ones on the upper part by the last time I did it. Early day up hill REX chair line winds kept the top of the front side pretty firm, but the bottom 2/3’s was nice by 10 and everything by 11:30 – after my early soup run. Heard from lift opp’s that the crowd was bigger than on Saturday, but still pretty okay – on REX anyway, never went anywhere else today. Total HyperJackRabbitHamster day. Wasn’t nice to anybody – especially the Dino Crowd (including John) till some time in the afternoon when I bumped into RB and Susan (spelling) during the frontside blur. Best run – Memorial from UpperFerk road, smooth, fast, bumping up nicely. Other than early day Lucky and IceFerkBerg, never skied anything other than REX chair line to Memorial – sorry! (oh and one Rolling Noll coming back from the soup run). Great day, Big views (not all the way from Oregon to Canada – but close), Big Blue Bird sky, nice temps – not to hot, not to cold, just right.

Other – As noted CB lodge had the usual promised Chick Noodle and it was very good again. Parking in the A lot looked pretty full, with C and B full to the shuttle stops – so somebody was around today. Fun today as usual, fun tomorrow probably – duh!

Sorry a ps report….Got my new employee T today, could have been a diff color than white, but all the words on the back make a very nice history of the season at Crystal this year….thanks un-named lift opp! Other thing I sadly forgot to post – trying to almost keep Mr Joedabaker in my view on a run down Memorial – almost catch up, not! Almost catch up Not! Twas a fun run though and the conversation on the next REX ride was very nice and very humbling, especially about what he did with the first half of his day. Dang just when I thought I was a good skier!
