We had some free tickets so we arrived to start skiing at 9am – too early with the slopes icy. We chased the sun and by 10 am we were smiling. Our last visit was when the PNW had terrible snow conditions and Tahoe was in great shape. In those days we had free tickets here because they were owned by the same folks who own Snoqualmie and Crystal.  Eventually they sold off Sierra-at-Tahoe. Our current free tickets are from our Fusion Passes from Timberline which belongs to the Powder Alliance. I know its more then you wanted to know. :)

The snow pack is low and they close on Easter. The Grandview Express had great terrain back then, but  now the terrain is rocky with low coverage.  We only skied the groomers and they became nice after 10am. The West Bowl area was nice on the groomers. We saw all the terrain we have skied previously and were amazed at all the rocks and logs that are covered  when its great snow year. I think there were more employees than customers at the resort. We noticed the groomers were moving snow from closed trails to the open trials. After 3 hours Jill went to the Ski Patrol and bought another great Ski Patrol Search and Rescue dog t-shirt -- for a grandson. Each year we buy t-shirts for our 5 grandsons' birthdays from the Ski Patrol at the various resorts where we ski. I think the dogs like Jill, and we like supporting the Ski Patrol.
