Wasn't really looking like the greatest tour conditions, so may as well get wet while riding lifts as opposed to trail busting slush in the rain? Headed to Stevens with hopes that snow level really would be at 4K as forecast. Sort of. More like 4300 (rain base) and even at high point of 5600 snow was wet enough to soak nearly as much as rain. At least all that didn't really start in earnest til noon. When it did, got the snow surface wet and slowed it down.

Snow on groomers was pretty nice really, springish slush with frozen but carvable base. Snow off groomers was a very mixed bag. Top Highlands dust on collapsing crust. Grace Lakes a somewhat slurpy but fortunately not truly sticky spring snow, sometimes marred with soft debris. Both hiking routes onto Cowboy Ridge were marked off as Closed. Below about 4500 it was goo but anywhere above that so long as not full sun, decent. Best snow was Shims, or Corona, where there had been surprisingly little traffic.

Overall, a decent day but nothing memorable. Lift lines nonexistent, season definitely winding down in people's minds even though the snow cover is looking great and would last into May.
