Skiing was excellent today somewhere. Unfortunately Alpental was not epic.
Arrived a lot 4 a little before 10:00am. Glad I got there early for there were at least 15 cars in the lot (optimists I suspect or not too bright). The weather was encouraging. The precipitation was mixed between light rain and heavy rain at times with an occasional snow flake to keep things interesting.

Not too much of a line at the base of 1. Two ticket scanners fighting to get to my pass. No other skiers in sight and empty chairs galore. Rain turned to snow about 1/2 way up 1. Headed to Chair 2 no one in sight all chairs empty.
Asked the lift attendant what gives. Mucky shit was his response. I decided to forge ahead. Sad I was not on the Pon2oons. Headed down Edelweiss skiers left. 5 inches of wet mank with debris below. Not bad if the visibility did not suck. Dense fog with massive moisture accumulation on the goggles. A wipe ever other turn was mandatory.

Managed to ski 5 runs. The groomers were best. Through the trees far right of Lower I was untracked 12 inches of white mud. The trees seems a lot closer together than normal. Speed was not an issue for it was like skiing on fly paper. Turning was another story.

High point of the day was the cornice blasting in the BC. The avalanche rumble was impressive. Too bad visibility was so bad.

Quit at 11:30. Most of the skiers on the lot were drinking heavily. Most had turned to hard liquor.
