Weird, unexpected, not as sunny (but sunny enough) not as warm (but warm enough), crowd lift lines as expected ( nobody – the season is definitely over ), sunny slopes harder than concrete (at  least the little I did), shady north facing slopes pretty perfect and fun, groomers smooth as a baby’s behind and the corduroy was still available when I left “extra” early.  Best groomers I did more than once till the very end – MiddleIceFergBerg and Lucky, plus lower MiddleBullFerk runs – crowd was so small that the groomers held up all day (plus the cold east wind!).  Heard about quakes in the Midwest and more repeats in California! – Bumped my world up side down and knocked me into to – wait – hold on – NORHTHWAY!!!! Lordy lordy the world has had a big shift.  Gotta say gate 4 to Paradise straight down was pretty nice, and Flying F chair line to the base (maybe not the last hundred feet which even tested my COOMBAS!) was pretty good, but that 2 hour chair ride (okay 10 minutes, just a little to much solo brain power the first ride and pretty intense with CD on the second ride).  So got the two big stones off my back the last couple of days.  Moved the hamster treadmill to the extreme and pushed the edge of my envelope. Opinions – Eskinmo? Fireman (mwb – they do have typing classes!).  Big fun day, lots of great screamer packed pow and groomer combinations.  Quit extra early for chores and to save a little for (maybe) some more sun and heat tomorrow.
Did I say that I really really really love my COOMBAS! Thanks Doug everytime I ski them I am very happy and honor you every time I do ...


Other – Soup in the empty CB lodge was Ched Broc (again). Heard it was good and the BLT was even better.  A lot parking seemed kinda full and stupid (not parking lot folks to help even less smart folks park), over flow into C lot with some cars in B lot?  Great fun almost end of season Monday – not many left sadly (two to be exact). 

the world.....the planet has change so much in last 24 hrs , I got lost on the way home.

Much better day than expected, awesome groomers, chalky carvable GV bumps, fast Ferks and L Shot, smooth creamy lower bull all with no traffic to dodge. Temps kept snow good all day for the Head Titans. CD said good things about N. Way but so much fun/speed too be had on faster lifts kept me in HAMSTER mode.
Side note: Gate 9 was a no go zone down low right Eskimo!

Only the day after, be careful Hamsters get lost out there!!
Hey Fireman thanks for the Labatts!

Rex delivered an excellent Green Valley Bowl and smooth Iceberg and Luckyshot grooming. Nice skiing in the Bowl, but the rest was only good for speed runs. Been trying for years and today finally broke the 70mph GPS-measured speed barrier. I'll log a 73mph top speed in my record book and dial it back a notch. Whew. But what else are you gonna do with parking lot flat grooming and zero people on the run? Moving north was the way to go, however, as Northway provided the goods out of the sun-baked and rain-crusted junk. Paradise Chutes, Sphincterville, Bruce's Bowl, Flyin' Floyds, and best of the day, Northway Bowl off the peak.

Opinions –

You shoulda stuck around Northway, there was a lot of snow better than the Berg and Luckyshot.
