First day of spring is a POWDER day. 7" overnight with a bit of sun at the base and cloudy as you climbed to the top. The line to ride the Big Chief chair was long and stretched to the Pacific Crest Lodge.  But the line was gone quickly as they hurried to ride the Double Diamond chair to reach the backside powder. Nice day.

REI had a nice day for their Demo Day. They provided cheap lift tickets, lunch tickets, a backpack and a group of vendors with skis, boards, goggles, etc.  A great spring day with powder face shots, and the chance to demo several different skis.

Some wind affected snow on NW slopes, awesome 16" powder in the trees on both north and south slopes from the top of Southern Cross chair. Sorry to miss you, but there were so many of us gray hairs there today, we all blended together. Thanks REI for a great demo event with geezer pleasing schwag!

The sun did not seem to make south facing snow heavier, and snow squalls blew in one after the other all day. Snowing when we left at 4PM down to 2000'.
