Blackcomb/Whistler report – four days, started sunny big, to partly cloudy, to snowing all day with big winds, to just plain snowing hard all day and everything getting bigger and better and having to many places to go and not enough brain power deciding where next! Fun four day trip, based on forecasts was not sure. But the 13th was big sun everywhere, made me move from Blackcomb to Whistler via a solo Peak to Peak bucket – Peak Chair big great huge carveable bumps, Harmony great big 6 pack with also great north facing packed pow…gotta say everything I skied that was north facing was primo that day. Snow started kinda late morning on Friday….but it happened all day and for the next couple of days just kept nuking. Continually improving, every time I did the same run – and being a hamster I did some runs probably to many times…Authors/Bark – big dropper bumps through tight tree slalom gates! Ouch! Best skiing I’ve had all season - sorry! I like the trees. Not big smooth high speed GS runs down SunnySide…But those tree gates and drops were fun and I cant say how many times I did them. Did some big runs also – Spankys Ladder to Ruby once, it was a conga line most of the weekend (Glacier closing time was 3pm – I saw 30+ folks doing Spanky at 3:20 – They are so much nicer up in Cannuk land about time) Suadan ( Coulier Extreme). Every day was better in the alpine than the previous, groomers were impeccable all day till the last run. Some crowds over the weekend, but they all disappeared by noon. Wished I had skied today! More new snow, big sun, I hated looking up at Blackcomb while I was driving away. Finished most days with Bark to Gearjamer to the base – 4k+ of fun on blown out gauds, with changing conditions top to bottom….fun!
Other – Soup everywhere everyday has Chick noodle, plus 4 other interesting ones – never had any, great pizza the first couple of days, then Udon bowl! and based on sitting with the Blackcomb ski patrol at Glacier lodge I had a Peanut sauce Chicken rice bowl!!! Very Ouchy Good! Both big day meals was waiting for Glacier line to mellow out – bonus both days line disappeared, vis improved, snow quality was great and I wish I was still up there…dang….sorry for coming back! Parking – pulled into the basement on Thursday and pulled out Monday…cost a lot, but didn’t have to walk very far. Skied mostly Blackcomb based on vis….
