It was gray all around us but beautiful sunny all day at Crystal. Another surprise was how good NW was on the shady aspects. I was hoping for some front side fun but there were no skiers to beat it into shape as it softened (ddk where were you?). No lines anywhere today but lots of cars in the lots when I left at 3. I guess they were all the young racers. It was rock hard in the morning and softened in places in the afternoon but the transition from hard to sticky was unpredictable. A very fun day especially considering all I was hoping for were some pictures of the slide activity before the anticipated rain came in. Two boarders hiked the King and rode Brain Damage. No other tracks seen anywhere else outside the boundary or closed areas.

More,
A bit of high overcast in the am, with the gondy on wind hold. but the groomers on FQ were in great shape when we skied down after checking out chair 6. GV north side to West Face was worth repeating, as were Valley-Bergs. Northway Peak, Snort Elk skiers right and Paradise Bowl skiers right had winter snow, an unexpected  bonus. Northway, skiers left in the sun, was sticky.  Gondy opened and full on bluebird late morning. Lower Bull skied well. the flats were getting sun warmed and tacky in the afternoon. Grubsteak was doable. Lot C pretty full, lot B to the shuttle stop. As BB said, only walk up lines. If you are reading this, you missed out!
