March 12, 2014 Summit Central

I had a doctor's appointment early so the early firm slopes could soften. On Tuesday, there were 7 trails that were groomed. Today, there were 22 groomed trails at Central and Alpental. We got to Central just as a few early skiers were leaving and opening up great parking. We started at 11am and the slopes were spring snow. The sunny slopes were great while any of the tree covered slopes were firm. Some of the slopes in the sun were developing small bumps or mush mounds. The treed lined slopes were firm but enjoyable on skis/boards with sharp edges. Yesterday Silas was big on the Silver Lodge, so we had lunch there today.  The food was good and reasonable.  Looks like one more sunny day to come. 

I thought the conditions were GREAT today, after about 11. So warm and beautiful, nice soft snow in the terrain park. Went back to my car for a t-shirt. One of those days...
