Pretty perfect Powder Bowl less day all in all. No body on the slopes – other than tourists checking the carnage – and me. Jumped onto a empty CHex ride a minute after it opened, big blue sky, lots of sun, perfect early groomers – Lucky and MiddleIceFerkBerg, plus Rolling Noll the couple of times that I did it while checking the HC disaster zone, plus a soup break. Pretty impressive seeing everything in big sun shine, amazing. All the Throne slide that blew out the base of HC – turned the bull wheel 90 degrees! Wonder if they will find the snow stake this summer, still looks nice on the cam shot at 4:45 from Monday. Couldn’t see the lift shack in the rubble. Also impressive in big sun the slides off the Queen – much more nice tree grooming in BP’s, will be a snow field at the base for this summer hiking season (elk will not be happy). The breaks in PB are impressive! The work the Crystal Groomers (and who else last night?) was impressive cutting and pushing the mess out of upper Lucky…if you want to see what Lucky looked like go ski CMAC by pass hook right to Queens, 6ft spikes and bolders.
Rest of the day, great high speed groomers early, even greater front side of REX chair line to SunnySide to Memorial – all nice early (noon?) fake coral shark teeth spines! But they were really nice blow through muck soft stuff, cant say how many runs I did on ShowTime, but they were all fun. Saw the fireman racing around a lot today, got a lot of flack about skiing out a line for him on the front side – I think its there! Should be good tomorrow.

Other – Soup in CB lodge was the triple C (#1 liked it, was pretty strong cocoanut smell to me). Rest of the lodge was empty, the Sierra was very good and the special delivery Macadamia White Choc cookie I got went very nicely with the beer. A parking lot was pretty full, but mostly freeloaders, some buses, some overflow cars towards C lot. Great day, nice drive home, pretty perfect spring day at the beach. I’ll be gone for a few days, so sorry to disappoint all the soup report folks…Have a great week.

I think DDK said it best about yesterday's conditions…"the mountain is a little out of sorts right now". What a difference a day makes. Crystal definitely had it's groom on today. Nothing more to add to DDK's report other than the Kokanee on the deck in the sun at the end of the day tasted extra good.

Skied an appliance store to DFF ,nice really nice, up on the king was the only place I didn't have to worry about DDK stealing my line......also had the kokanee soup its good, maybe even better than the chicken noodle .

When I was heading up to check for my Chick Noodle - sadly none - I noticed some very pretty lines out on the King! down to DFF...gotta say made me jealous.....for my lazy attitude. ;)

Firm groomers and speed runs till people arrived, mid-day soft slushy T2Bs and empty Gondy rides, followed by afternoon Frontsides. Stay in the skied-out tracks, as off-piste is mostly a unconsolidated mess. Nothing crowd wise as measured by lift lines or filled chairs, but everyone on the slopes today seemed very like minded in skiing fast slushy groomers in the morning and steep muck in the afternoon. We had some additional spots reserved for the Kokanee patio tour but had to drink the no-shows share ourselves.
