Amazing carnage and not-so-amazing-but-fun snow. Although the transition from deep butter to packed slop to slush was a little rude. A few areas of shaded fluff got us through.
The issue with grooming was because with Chinook red-shirted till 1:00, a lot of people uploaded the Gondy that couldn't ski the deep heavy glop and there was trouble galore. Couldn't believe that after people that saw 30 feet of snow piled against the displaced C-6 Base they would go poach crappy snow in an avie zone. Would have gladly had them close the Luckyshot side if we could have watched the heli-bombing of Powder Bowl.

I would agree that there is no natural sliding to be seen on any aspect in vis from
Crystal yet it's hard to argue with the outcome of the triggering. We certainly have read of people's documented pit digging and we all know of the treachery of the current deep instability. I, for one, am not prepared to gamble with the well established risks. Those crowns are impressive! Live to ski another day.

The CHEx lift is apparently out because a linked transformer at the bottom of 6 was taken out. Hard to understand but that was the explanation from a patroller who also said that it was one charge at the start of the hike in Campbell that pealed off the whole basin . Must have been quite an "oh Shit " moment.
