Some of the finest breakable crust I have ever skied.

Turn out the lights, the party's over!

Grateful for an icy groomed track from silver fir to the nordic trails atop hyak for today's walk. Venturing off trail into the woods was rewarded with .25-.5" of rain crust on 130cm+ of powder, fear inducing tree bombs and cut-up puppy paws.

Watching the purple/black skis dive and swim under the opaque crust looked like swimming sharks, the mackerel sky & sun was pretty to look at, two ravens practiced their kite-like synchronized flying and a happy dog made the day a win.

Hella good timing for me to have hit it yesterday, although unfortunately I spent nearly the whole time in the park owed to the lure of forgiving landings.

i'm going to get a park pass this week in order to ski the shavings and clean cord.
