Headed up early to get some fresh snow. Lifts started running around 845 with 1-6 inches depending on aspect of highish density snow. It kept coming down in spurts all day with lots of swirling wind. By early afternoon most terrain outside the trees was packed out and the lower half the mountain was getting really heavy. We left around 2, it was still snowing but 34 degrees in the parking lot. Good snow for filling stuff in, and a fun day.

It was curiously good, for a day after which, at 415 or in the afternoon, there was basically no fresh snow on the car and a temp of 35. It was drizzling a bit especially down at the bottom of the backside, but I guess it was right side up rain, sort of the opposite of freezing rain. The main word for all the fresh snow was SOFT. We had second tracks down Corona Bowl and it was deep at the top and bottom, with a bit of half buried debris in the mid section. Between wind transport and re-charges of fresh snow during the day, some of the more exposed and scoured sections like the flats under the power lines actually had fun, unique surface snow. It was hard to find really bad snow anywhere. While it got a little bit crowded frontside after lunch, crowds were light all day on the backside, basically ski on all day, and the big slopes had a quiet, unhurried feel. Great day to be out.
