Seemed like there were a lot of patrollers free skiing, guess thats what happens when the owner goes out of town.

It's called "cutting up the snowpack" they were just making the slope safe for you, next time you see one standing on a speed bump, just say thank you! Besides if they got to from point A to Point B, they might as well get a turn in.
