For a lot of folks today would have been a very nice day, especially based on what I heard the last few days have been, today was awesomely spectacular spectacular, no winds, lots of mid day sun, warm (relatively) temps, no crowds, hamster belly button deep new snow (at least and deeper in wind loaded or protected places), big views south early and Rainier mid day and north late. Best places for me (maybe not everyone) were PB and BP (a couple of times only, FQex and HC chairs running painfully slow), had fun on SunnySide (not recommended for most deep snow folks), GValley was nice – especially the bowl, skier left shoulder of ICEferkBERG (definitely not the main groomed line, which was pretty much ice skating smooth quality, only touched that part once). The new inch or so was pretty nice to ski through in the bottom of all the bumps and it took a long time for the small crowd (or me) to ski it up off piste.
Other – BIG BONUS! Chicken Noodle in the CB lodge got me to take a break late morning – it was very very good, lots of chicken, carrots, celery and noodles. Way better than the Bull Wheel. Other soup was the Triple C. Very nice White Choc Macadamia cookies also, went great with the Fat Tire. Lots of buses showed up for what sounds like the last Friday night ski, a number of buses earlier also. Pay lot was massive, and not full and filled with a lot of folks that were not pay lot folks. Some over flow into C lot, B lot looked like mostly employees. Fun day as usual, surprisingly warm.
Other other – Big Bonus next week for the Fireman and his posse! I’ll be somewhere else so there should be lots of big pow days this next week. Have fun! I will! I expect some soup reports from those that can take the minute or two to check! And if it’s Chick Noodle – eat it!
