Executive summary: We Need More Snow

Details: chilly today - telemetry indicated -7F this AM, I recorded -10F at the summit house (6872') at 12:20. The day began sunny, but flurries with strong winds increased starting midday. It felt about 30 ~ 40 Mph on the ridge by noon.

High Campbell, Northway, and Green Valley were all closed.

Wouldn't call the snow conditions awesome: the groomers were quite wind scoured, with variable and unpredictable pockets of wind-redistributed & wind-tumbled powder here and there. The trick was linking those pockets together without hitting ice (sheets or chunks).

Combination of midweek, cold temps, wind holds/closures, and mediocre snow conditions made for a lot of empty chairs and a very empty lot B. At one point I think I was one of only 6 people on the entire length of REX.
